A blessed feast of the Holy Name of Jesus (traditional) and Epiphany (transferred from Jan. 6)! Today we celebrate both the revealing of the Christ Child, the Light of the World come into the world, as well as the glory and power of His name, Jesus. The name, as St. Paul tells us, "which is above every other name", and at which "every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." (Philippians 2:9-11)
In this sin-darkened world, we have hope: the Light has come to vanquish sin and death. May we proclaim His name and bring that Light throughout the world this year of 2022!
